| Experience the High Arctic and learn about its dynamic ecosystem, which has been characterized as the ‘canary in the coal mine’ as it relates to the impacts of global climate change. Learn firsthand the issues relating to caribou migration and the conundrum of oil and gas exploration on Alaska’s North Slope versus habitat protection in the fragile High Arctic region. Explore these issues with visits to research stations and meetings with field scientists, as well as visits to petroleum production facilities. In addition, we introduce the human element through stays in local communities that offer opposing views on conserving traditional life versus economic development. Our travel by chartered and scheduled aircraft allows us to cover the vast distances of the Arctic.
