Wewak to Port Moresby: Celebrate the cultural diversity of Irian Jaya, from its outlying islands to the intriguing Asmat, where painted warriors greet us in outrigger canoes. Spectacular snorkeling and diving
opportunities reveal underwater wonderlands along the sheer walls of Mapia Atoll and in the incomparable region of Raja Ampat, recently hailed as the most biodiverse marine habitat on the planet.
Port Moresby to Wewak: Sail the Coral and Solomon Seas, from the volcanic D’Entrecasteaux Islands to the friendly Trobriands with their ancient Kula Ring cycle of trade. Snorkel and dive among brilliant coral atolls, and search deserted isles for orchids, butterflies, and a myriad tropical birds. Rabaul’s Baining tribe bewitches us with spectacular fire dances, the Tingwon Islands gives us the opportunity to search for the rare megapode, and we explore the mouth of the famed Sepik river.
