Let’s play a game of telephone! One player whispers a message to the next. The catch? The next player hasn’t even been born yet. Over millions of years, mammals have devised strategies for playing “intergenerational telephone,” sharing messages about the environment with their developing offspring. Researchers increasingly recognize the profound impact of these messages on human health. Join Harvard scientist Sasha Post as he breaks down the strategies humans use to play, why these strategies evolved, and how we can change the game to improve public health.
